IMPHAL, August 9: The Ng College Men’s badminton team and the Kha Manipur College Women’s team have bagged the men’s and women’s team champion titles respectively of the RK Brojendra Memorial MU inter-college Badminton Tournament at the MBA, Indoor hall today.
The two day championship is participated by ten men’s teams and nine women’s teams.
Ng College men’s team defeated Thoubal College by 3-0 games in the finals today.
In the first single match, Punshiba of Ng College defeated Md Shakir of Thoubal College by 2-0, while Duleija of Ng College defeated N Budha Singh of Thoubal college by 2-1 and in the double’s team event the Ng college pair of Punshiba and Pakasana defeated Md Shakir and Shitaljit of Thoubal college by 2-0.
In the women’s team event, the Kha Manipur women’s team defeated the DM team by 2-0 with Ksh Khelpati of Kha Manipur college defeating Arunkumari of DM Science by 2-0 in the single’s event and Kha Manipur pair of Ksh Khelpati and Monica defeated the DM Science girls Rima and Anuja by 2-0 in the double’s event.
The closing function of the tournament was attended by Addl Director, (U) Dr RK Yaiskul Singh and principal Ng College Dr Y Momon Devi as the chief guest and president respectively.
