Tokay Gecko of Manipur: AR taking steps to save endangered species

26 Sector AR of HQ IGAR(South) organised an interaction with Forest officials of Govt of Manipur at Pallel on 07 Aug 12. During the officer’s conclave at Pallel, the forest officials gave a presentation on different types of endangered species in the Chandel District and their illegal trafficking.

The forest official while addressing the gathering enlightened all officers about the endangered species of Tokay Geckos which was saved by the troops of Assam Rifles and thanked the Sector in their efforts for protecting such species.

Brig Upendra Dwivedi, Commander 26 Sector while addressing the gathering highlighted the importance of protecting endangered plants, animal species and their habitat.

He emphasized that Assam Rifles will continue to assist Forest and Wildlife authorities in their efforts to SAVE WILDLIFE & ENVIRONMENT.
