IMPHAL, August 7: The dead body of a Manipur traffic police personnel was fished out from the Mera Khong Maril canal under Nambol Police station this evening around 5pm.
The dead body was found in full traffic police uniform by locals at around 3pm this evening who informed the police.
Police later fished out the dead body of the personnel identified as Likmabam Lokendro, 50 of Malom Hawairou.
Lokendro is said to be a personnel of the City traffic police.
Speaking to media persons, a family member said, Lokendro was seen with his friends at Malom Bazar around 7:30pm yesterday.
He however failed to return home last night, after which the family members conducted a search for him but to no avail.
The family member continued that the family was informed about his dead body being fished out from the canal this afternoon.
