IMPHAL, August 6: Citizens’ Club, Soibam Leikai and UPAA, Kyamgei registers easy wins against their opponents today at the ongoing Imphal East 1st division football league tournament at the Khuman Lampak, Football practice ground.
In the first match of the day, which is also the last match of the third round was played between Citizens’ Club and NESU, Khurai which ended with the former defeating the latter with a 2-0 scoreline.
With nine points after the end of the third round, Citizens Club is second on the points table.
S Krishan (35th) and Ch Kishan (38th) scored for the Soibam Leikai club.
Two of the CC players L Dhanjit and Wilson were also awarded with yellow cards during the match.
NESU has only four points at the end of the third match from a draw and win.
The second ground match which is also the first match of the fourth round was played between UPAA and RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai.
UPAA routed RAU by 5-0 with a hattrick from Th Kiran.
Kiran’s treble was assisted by a brace from Ak Rajnikanta.
Th Kiran’s hattrick came in the 3rd, 40th and 40+1 minutes all in the first half.
Ak Rajnikanta scored in the 18th and the 21st minutes of the match.
Meanwhile, UPAA’s Bijen was cautioned by the referee.
UPAA with 12 points from four wins are at the points table.
PYA, Kairang will meet UPSA, Pukhao while TYWO, Takhel will meet SSC, Porompat tomorrow.
