IMPHAL, August 28: The United People’s Front, UPF, Manipur today observed its 14th foundation day at the Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.
The Department of Anthropology, Manipur University, Prof W Nabakumar, president UPF Manipur, BM Yaima Shah, All Manipur Working Journalist Union, AMWJU president A Mubi and editor Freedom, RK Ranendrajit were present as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the observation, the chief guest W Nabakumar said the observation of the foundation day must not go in vain and the core objective of the organization should be followed.
He added that individual, organizational interest should be dismissed for the sake of the collective interest of the society.
He added that the state is in such a stage today that we are confused if we are along the path to development or the other way round.
He said that this kind of important observation is not carried out in a calendar schedule but it must be observed with sensibility.
He also expressed that there is a large gap among the civil societies of the state which need to be bridged at the earliest.
Meanwhile, UPF President BM Yaima conluded by welcoming all the suggestions.
