IMPHAL, Sept 23: On the occasion of Cancer Rose Day which falls today, Director of RIMS, Prof S Sekharjit distributed blood free of cost to cancer patients in Radiotherapy Department.
A press statement made available by the institute media advisor stated that blood was made available by the department of Immunohaematology and blood transfusion, RIMS.
Altogether, 41 units of blood were distributed. It was learnt that blood distribution on Cancer Rose ay was started back in 2002.
Voluntary donation of blood by public is needed to meet the demand to save lives, it added.
