IMPHAL, September 21 : The Consumers Club, Manipur, CCM urged the state chief minister, also in charge of Electricity/power department to reinstate and appoint appropriate officer for the defunct Consumers Grievances/Disputes Redressal Forum.
In a statement, CCM said the redressal forum had remained non functional for the last one year and four months and added, no grievances from the consumers side could be addressed.
The lost of electrical appliances at homes as a result of negligence by the electricity department must be compensated by the concerned authority as per Consumers Protection Act 1986, the statement said and added, such lost faced by consumers still remained uncompensated due to non functional of the forum.
