End strike says HERICOUN

IMPHAL, September 3: The Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) has appealed the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences authorities to end the cease work strike of its Gynaecology department.

Speaking to media persons at its office, secretary Public Grievances of HERICOUN, Surjit Kumar Khuman said that the Gynaecology department of JNIMS is on a cease work strike and it has caused great inconvenience to the public.

It has also been reported in some local dillies that JNIMS no longer accepts delivery cases due to a recent incident of a woman who died during child birth at at the hospital.

It has been alleged that there were some negligence from the doctor’s side, he said.

In this situation, the hospital authority should investigate the case properly, he urged.

A mistake made by one or two doctors should not spoil the image of all the doctors in the state, he added.

Meanwhile, a reporter of IFP has approached the JINMS authority to enquire regarding the cease work strike.

The authority told this reporter that JNIMS is functioning normally and there is no cease work strike going in JNIMS.
