Haj Piligrimage

IMPHAL, September 30: Altogether 177 pilgrims from Manipur and another 123 from Assam has left Gauhati today bound for Medina , Saudi Arabia at around 3.10 pm.

The pilgrims were seen off from Tulihal Airport by the Chief Minister yesterday. Executive officer of Manipur State Haj Committee, Syed Wahidur in a telephonic conversation with IFP mentioned that the flight is en route for Mecca via Medina.

About 196 pilgrims left Imphal airport yesterday in the first phase and are set to leave for Madina today.He said that there are less pilgrims from Assam and Manipuris have filled up the vacancy.

It may be mentioned that according to reports, the Haj pilgrimage from the State is said to be the largest ever.
