IMPHAL, September 10: A jewellery shop was burgled on the intervening night of September 9 and 10 at Hiyangthang Bazar under Wangoi police station.
Unidentified burglars broke into the Kamala jewellery Works and took away silver ornaments amounting to about Rs 60 thousand.
The shop belongs to one Angom (o) Kamala Devi, 41 wife of Angom Subhas Singh of Langthabal Phura makhong.
Speaking to IFP, Subhas said the jewellery shop has gold and silver jewellery both for kids as well as grown-ups.
He added that he had locked the shop last night and came back, however the family was informed by other locals this early morning about the shops lock being broken.
He hurried to the shop and found the silver items missing from his shop.
He further expressed that he will file a written complaint to the Wangoi police on this regard at the earliest.
