Manipur: Jiribam meeting demands Inner Line Permit System

IMPHAL, Sept 23: The extension and adoption of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation 1873 (ILP) should come into effect from November 18 and to remind the authority as discussed by the state cabinet and Manipur Assembly. This was resolved in a joint meeting between Jiribam representatives and representatives of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System held at Jiribam during September 19 till 22.

The meeting also resolved that all Jiribam community will support all efforts and actions taken up by the Joint Committee on ILP system. The third and the last resolution taken during the meeting stated to support all developmental efforts required for the district.

In a statement issued to the press, the committee narrated the hardship faced by their team in trying to reach Jiribam, stating that the condition the road is in its worst condition. It also lamented that the current works to repair roads taken up by the BRTF would never end.

Hardly a few workers of BRTF are seen working on site, the statement said and added, the current methods and the way the BRTF is repairing the roads will never materialise or improve.
