“RISING SUN BATTALION SAVED THE LIFE OF A CIVILIAN’’

Y Rohen, son of Y Rajendra Singh, aged 12 years, resident of village – Top Awang leikai, district – Imphal (East). The individual was bitten by a venomous snake on 10 September 2012 and was evacuated to MI Room, 30 Assam Rifles, Mantripukhri and given first aid. 1. True to its motto of ‘Friends of the Hill People’, the troops of the Rising Sun Battalion, saved the life of a civilian namely Y Rohen, son of Y Rajendra Singh, aged 12 years, resident of village – Top Awang leikai, district – Imphal (East). The individual was bitten by a venomous snake on 10 September 2012 and was evacuated to MI Room, 30 Assam Rifles, Mantripukhri and given first aid. The individual is in stable condition and was kept under observation.

2. The speedy action of medication and resuscitation by the medical officer of 30 Assam Rifles played a major role in saving the life of the victim. The individual was given medication and his family members were much obliged to the unit to have retrieved a situation which could have proved fatal. The incident has further strengthened the faith of the locals towards the Rising Sun Bn.
