2 persons rescued by Senapati Police

Manipur, IMPHAL, Sept 6: According to a statement of the Senapati SP, the district police has rescued two abducted persons on September 5 around 8:30pm and recovered one Bolero used in the abduction from Taphou area.

The statement identified the two victims as T Somorjit Singh and Okram Rohan Singh both of Wangjing, Thoubal district.

Elaborating further on the case, the police officers statement has said that on September 5 at about 8:00 pm, some unknown persons forcibly abducted the two persons and hijacked one Bolero bearing Regd No ASO 1AV-2357 from near the Taphou Iron Factory on NH-2 and taken to an unknown location.

“On receipt of the information, Senapati District Police pressed into action immediately and search operation was launched.”

“During the said operation, the abducted persons were rescued and the hijacked vehicle recovered. Further, the Bolero bearing Regd No NL-07C/1689 used by the accused persons along with one mobile phone was also seized.”

However, taking the advantage of darkness, the accused persons escaped. In this connection a case has also been registered in Senapati Police Station. Efforts are on to nab the accused persons, it said.
