IMPHAL, September 21: Alleging manipulation in the counting of votes of the 14/13 Ucheckon Nongchup Gram Panchayat, supporters of a Pradhan candidate took out a meira rally this evening at Uchekon.
The protestors demanded repoll of the 14/13/6 Ucheckon Youth Atheletic Club and action against the Porompat RO.
The protestors alleged that even though the total numbers of ballot papers found in the ballot box of 14/13/6 Ucheckon Youth Athletic Club was recorded at 494, after counting it has been reported as only 475 votes.
The protestors claimed that there is a loss of 19 ballot papers which the authorities should come out clean on at the earliest.
Several protestors claimed that after finding about the missing 19 ballots soon after the results were declared, the supporters went to the RO and urged for a recounting however, the RO declined.
The protestors further demanded action against the RO and repoll or recounting.
