MPSC shares MSL lead with AIM

IMPHAL, September 25: MPSC shares the MSL top slot with AIM after defeating ESU, Wangkhei today at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

At the end of the 26th match of the league, MPSC is at 12 points same as AIM in five games.

MPSC defeated ESU by 3-0.

Even though the final scoreline had a different indication, both teams played were unable to dominate the other till about the 30th minute of the match.

M Somochandra scored the first goal in the 41st minute for MPSC.

The first half ended with MPSC leading by 1 goal.

Golmei scored the second for MPSC in the 49th minute in the second half which was followed by another from Priyokumar Singh in the 85th minute.

The final scoreline could have been much more as MPSC striker I Nilakumar missed several changes to score during the matches.

MPSC player Benjamin Kamson was cautioned in the 64th minute.

MPSC manager H Gyaneshor Singh said in his post-match brieifing that his team is confident of winning its remaining matches and lift this year’s MSL trophy.

He said there are still minute flaws in his team which could be looked into.
