IMPHAL, Sept 30: The NCP today opened its new head office at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, Tiddim Road.
Speaking to media persons during the inaugural of the new office, president of NCP Manipur Pradesh, L Ibomcha Singh said that the NCP state unit will start with the issue of ILP as the first step after the opening of its new office.
He also added that NCP Manipur Pradesh office branches will be coming up in all the nine districts of the state soon.
He also clarified on the recent remark of the Union Home Minister that “Our Constitution will not allow such things. Any sensible person who believes in the Constitution will not pass such a bill” regarding a recent private member’s resolution of the Manipur Assembly, that it is a “Private Member’s Resolution not a bill”.
The Private Member’s Resolution demanding the introduction of Inner Line Permit system in the state was passed unanimously during the last session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly held on the July 13, 2012, he said.
When asked about the confusion of NCP Manipur Pradesh division into two groups, he answered that there is such thing and NCP Manipur Pradesh is only one.
