Smokeless cookstove launch

IMPHAL, September 21: The Chanura Microfin Manipur today launch a Biomass Smokeless CookStove at its office located at Hodam Leirak Machin, Airport Road.

The CookStove was launch by Anshu Bhartia, CEO of Friends of Women’s World Banking(FWWB), India.

Speaking at the lunching function, CEO of the agency PK Khuman stated that more than 16,000 households are using the device and have benefitted greatly.

While the organization looks for environment friendly products and services, it also renders campaign for financial literacy among the rural masses, he added.

CookStove has been launched in Africa as well, as it is in India. In Manipur Chanura group pioneered the move.

It is said that this cookstove reduces 80% smoke. Hence it reduces fuel. Moreover, it is easy to operate too. It is designed to be 25-30% more efficient than conventional cooking devices.

The CookStove weigh about 5 kg. It also provides a guarantee of 5 years. The device cost about Rs 2000.
