TRUGPU yet to open its account

IMPHAL, September 21: Points leader AIM defeated KSC by 4-1 today widening the point gap between leaders and presently in second spot MPSC to three points in four matches of the Manipur State League.

AIM has now four wins from the same number of games with 12 points.

In another match of the day, USA, Khurai defeated TRUGPU Nambol by 1-0.

Playing the 19th match of the league at the Khuman lampak Main Stadium, AIM, Khabam Lamkhai controlled the match throughout the 90 minutes and seemed to score goals at their leisure.

AIM striker H Dayananda scored the first of the match from outside the D box area in the 27th minute. The volley hit the goalpost before reflecting inside the goal line.

N Jimmy added the second for AIM in the next minute at 28th minute.

Naoton added a brace for AIM in the 43rd and the 64th minute to lead by 4-0.

The last three goals for AIM were scored through headings.

However a minor defending mistake cost AIM a goal in the 69th minute.

The lone goal for KSC, Lambulane was scored by G Ngulkhosiem.

Meanwhile in the second match of the day, L Sanatomba scored the only goal of match for USA, Khurai in the 79th minute.

The goal came from a left flank pass by L Milan from the corner area.

Even though the scoreline said otherwise, the match was mostly controlled by TRUGPU.

TRUGPU had several chances, however failed to convert any of them.

Three TRUGPU players including their goalie and one USA player were cautioned during the match.

TRUGPU is at the bottom of the points tally as it is yet to open its account after facing defeats in all their four matches till now.
