During a recent media tour of the schools in Barak Circle particularly Goakhal, Borobekara, Chhotobekara, Yakuradhor and Laltingkhal, media persons found the conditions of the schools to be way below par and in a distressing and deplorable condition.

The condition of Bhutangkhal Government Primary School, Laltingkhal can never be found anywhere else in the state.

The school has altogether 121 students in class I to V.

During the inspection by the media person, a teacher identified as Rohit Chandra Das was teaching the students in one of the classes.

Rohit Das who is identified to be a replacement or an alternate teacher said there are two regular teachers in the school, whom he identified as Hemango Dutta and Romabati.

He further told the visiting media persons that he has been engaged by the two teachers since a long time back.

He further informed that the two have never come to the school in a long time.

The school doesnot have proper infrastructure including benches and desks and as such boys and girls are made to sit together, while others had to sit on the ground itself.

He however informed that this is better as compared to other schools in the interior parts of the area.

During the signing of an MoU with the Jiribam District Demand Committee, the state government had assured that the Borobekara Government High School will be upgraded to a Secondary School of the Barak Circle and that teachers will be appointed for the school.

However the government has failed to act on it, which has affected the lives of several students who are planning to admit in the school once it is upgraded.
