Leadership training at Congress bhavan

IMPHAL, October 31: The Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee launched its 3 days Special Leadership training programme/ residential camp at the Congress Bhawan, BT Road.

The inaugural function was attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, and MPCC president Gaikhangam as the chief guest and president, respectively.

The function was also attended by all Congress MLAs, office bearers, executive members, PCC members, chief of frontals and cells/departments, DCC/BCC presidents and party workers.

Speaking during the inaugural function, president Gaikhangam elaborated on the importance of such programmes.

During the training, the participants will be prepared to be future leaders.

The party president who is also the state Home Minister said, everyone assembled in the function are all branches of the party.

He further expressed that training will act as a guiding force for the future leaders and added that the party has a huge expectation from the youths of the party.

Further elaborating on the need for coordination amongst the participants of the programme, he said they would have to act like a team during the course of the three day programme.

Iconic Youth leader Rahul Gandhi is in charge of the party’s national youth brigade, and under his leadership and vision, the party has been able to churn out youth leaders, he said.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said the participants should not only try to hold titles and position as leaders are not just about holding titles and positions; rather they should try to incorporate everything that is being said during the training.

We are not holding permanent posts and as such we should have the qualities to work collectively amongst the different communities residing in the state, to unite and sacrifice for the state.

Participants need to build up confidence and attract more people into the party, he said.

Citing the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, the Chief Minister said the public is behind the Congress party as they were unhindered by the several bomb threats on party candidates and came out to re-elect the party into power.
