IMPHAL, October 10: In an effort to speed up the process of special summary revision of electoral roll, 2012, the Chief Electoral Officer/Manipur, PC Lawmkunga as per the instruction of the Election Commission of India, ECI has nominated four Poll Observers of IAS rank from the state.
The four will be briefed through video conferencing on October 12 at 2 PM.
IFP sources said, the poll observers listed by the ECI regarding the summary revision of the state includes Ram Muivah, IAS, principal secretary, works/tranposrt/health & family welfare, JC Ramthanga, IAS Commssioner, DE/Horticulture & soil conservation, P Vaiphei, IAS, Commissioner, Hr & Tech Edn & SCERT Y Jugindro Singh, IAS, Comissioner, Labour & Employment and Fisheries, Govt of Manipur.
Each IAS officer will be assigned as poll observer for certain districts and the convey order to this effect has been intimidated officially by the chief election officer of Manipur PC Lawmkunga.
Among them, Ram Muivah will be in charge for Imphal west and Churachandpur district, JC Ramthanga for Imphal East and Chandel district, P Vaiphei for Thoubal, Ukhrul and Bishnupur district while Y Jugindro will be in charge for Tamenglong and Senapati district.
The four IAS poll observers will be provided with required handbooks and related documents, sources added.
