IMPHAL, Oct 11: The proscribed PREPAK in a press release by its publicity officer, Sanju Oinam in a statement mentions that one Elangbam Priyokumar alias Hemchand alias Nanao,23, s/o Hemanta of Lamjao Awang Leikai who was arrested from the said area on October 7 by a combined team of Thoubal District commandos and 27 AR and had carried letterheads of the said outfit bearing No 5519/fs/pk/hw/2012 and 5520/fs/pk/hw/2012 will no longer be recognized by the outfit. It mentioned that if any financial demand are made from the said letterhead, then the public should not acknowledge it.
Further, the arms recovered from the said individual including a handgun and a handgrenade are not the property of the outfit. However, the 2 lacs which he was carrying has not been mentioned by the security forces and is evident that the money has been taken and distributed among the security forces, it added.
Further, one Naorem Ongbi Memchoub i alias Mochabi,38, wife of Ibo of Kakching Sumak Leikai who was arrested from Kakching Chumang parking on October 7 is not related with the outfit in any manner.
