IMPHAL, Oct 18: Bishnupur District Police Commandos on Tuesday acting on specific information conducted a search operation at Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou Area and arrested a cadre of PREPAK (PRO) identified as Salam Dhanachandra Singh, son of S Dhanapati Singh of Keibul Lamjao Mayai Leikai, said a police release.
During interrogation, it was revealed that he recently extorted money from the two Winger Associations which runs along the Moirang-Imphal road and Kumbi-Imphal road, the release said.
Further, on Wednesday at about 4:00 pm a combined team of Bishnupur Police commandos and 33 AR conducted a search operation in an around the area of Loktak Lift Irrigation (LLI), Bishnupur and arrested four cadres of KCP (City Meitei) faction identified as Thokchom Kritananda alias David, 20, son of late Th Babumacha Singh of Naoremthong Takhellambam Leikai; Thangsabam Liliput alias Liput, 20, son of Th Sunder Singh of Naoremthong Takhellambam Leikai near Chingtam Press; Laishram Momo alias Macha alias Anokpa, 20, son of L Soba Singh of Singjamei Makha Kakwa Naorem Leikai; and Sorensangbam Telheiba alias Mahendra Singh, 26, son of S Nilo Sing of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai, it said.
One bomb marked as LCT/80/2003 and Maruti Car blue in color bearing registration number DL8-CP-4824 were recovered from their possession, it further said.
On interrogation, it was revealed that they were directly involved in hurling of hand grenade at the residence of Takhellambam Sanatomba Singh of Kongba Ucheckon on October 10, it said.
Furthermore, today at about 11:30 am Bishnupur District Police Commandos conducted a search operation at Keinou village area and arrested a cadre of NSCN(K) identified as Dinguangam Angam alias Angam, 22, son of late Zeidikhuanang of Lukhambi Part-Il. They joined the said organization in the year 2008 having Army No. 1511(Rank- Private), it added.
