Believer Church showers manna`s to needy

IMPHAL, Nov 24: Believers Church of Langol Laimanai today distributed gifts to more than 150 economically backward families for elimination of poverty under its Community Development Project.

This year, Believers Church has selected more than 317 poor families from different part of the state to extend their support in eliminating poverty.

The said function was attended by MLA Wangjing-Tentha Constituency, Paonam Brojen Meitei; Rev S Prim Vaiphei, President of All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO), and, Chancellor of Bishop House, Fr TS Dominic.

Speaking at the occasion, Chancellor of Bishop House, Fr TS Dominic briefed about the Community Development Program. He said that church exist for the society and community to extend support in the hour of need.

Another project called safe drinking water project has also been taken up. Under this project impure water is purified through Canadian technology. Bore-wells and hand-pumps were also dug up at 100 locations. Our conviction is to do what we can for the society, he added.

During the gift distribution function, MLA of Wangjing-Tentha Constituency, Paonam Brojen Meitei expressed his gratitude towards the church for organising such generous program. He further added that the role played Christian community in the state is varied.

He further lauded the efforts of many people from hills areas to re-bind and re-strengthen the brotherhood relation with the valley people through spiritual ways.

During the function, many embroidery machines, Bicycles, sewing machines, GI sheets were distributed as gifts to 150 people, and the 317 people will be gifted tomorrow.
