AGARTALA, Nov 13 (Agencies): Border Security Force (BSF) has mapped out as many as 55 hideouts of Northeastern militants in two districts of Southern Bangladesh – Khagracharri and Rangamati – of which 30 camps belong to Tripura militants, BSF official said here today.

BSF has taken up the issue with its Bangladesh counterpart BGB in just concluded Inspector General level conference on Border coordination at Syllet last week while demanding a strong action against Indian insurgents.

Besides, dismantling the militants` hideouts in Bangladesh soil, BSF asked BGB to construct adequate border outposts in the stretches across southern hill districts, which have been left unfenced and uncared over the year and militants using it as corridor.

The BSF officials, however, expressed concern over increasing unprovoked incidents of attacks on BSF and unarmed Indians by the Bangladeshis along Indo-Bangladesh border and it stated as many as 37 such incidents were reported in past 10 months and that left 26 people injured including 15 BSF and killed a civilian.

The meeting had also resolved to finish the joint survey work for single row fencing along India-Bangladesh border within 150 yards from zero line by 31st December next; otherwise, the border management in the hilly and sensitive stretches would be further complicated, BSF officials pointed out.

BGB, however, denied the allegation of influx from Bangladesh in Northeastern states including illegal migrants dominated districts of Assam rather, complained that about 2200 Bangladeshi nationals were kidnapped by BSF and Indian nationals in past 10 months.
