Cultural pillars erected

IMPHAL, November 1: The Arts and Culture department has erected two cultural pillars one each at Arts and Culture complex, Palace compound and one in front of the Bheigyachandra Open Air Theartre moat.

The two pillars are to be sculpted from a piece of rock each. The two roacks have been shifted all the way from Ningthoukhong.

Mutua Bahadur has been engaged as the project’s workshop director.

Work on both pillars had started on October 29 with six sculptures, six assistants and 12 carvers engaged for the purpose. The work force has been engaged from several communities residing in the state.

The sculptures are set to be completed in ten days time from the day work started.

Symbols of all communities residing in the state are being carved on both the pillars.
