First win for England team in Manipur Polo International

    IMPHAL, November 25: India team A (IPA) and England Polo team registered easy wins against their respective opponents in the ongoing 6th Manipur Polo International 2012 at the Mapal Kangjeibung today.

    In the first ground match of the day, the England team defeated Germany by 9-0.

    After today’s win, the England team has now one win and a loss at the end of their league round.

    The team has to wait for the result of the India (B) and Germany match to know whether it reaches the semi-final play offs.

    In the first chukker of the match, the England team scored 2 goals while the German team failed to score any; in the second chukker, England added another 2 goals.

    The England team added another 2 in the third chukker.

    In the last and fourth chukker of the match, the England team scored 3.

    The England scorers are Paul De Rivaz (6 goals), Joshua Wolley (2) and Justin Farr Zones (1).

    In the second match of the day, India team A (IPA) defeated the Thailand team by 7-3.

    The Indian group A team ended the first chukker with a three goals against its opponents one and extended the goal line to 5-2 by the end of the second chukker.

    In the third chukker, both the Indian and Thailand teams scored one each.

    In the last chukker, India manage to add one to its score line ending the match with a 7-3 scoreline.

    The scorers for India (A) are Lt Colonel Jogendra Singh (2 goals), Navin Singh (4), Lt Colonel Prasant Thakur (1), while Federico Bachman (1) Verachai Ngao Osa (1) and Nara Ketusingha (1) scored for Thailand.
