IMPHAL, October 7: A Naoba of Thoubal today took the first gold of the ongoing U-14/U-17 boys’ and girls’ State inter School Boxing Championship, 2012 at the Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
Naoba defeated L ROjit, Kangpokpi in the final bout of the U-14 boys (28-30kg).
In other final bouts of the U-14 Boys’ today, Sh Barun (Bpr) defeated Wangathing (Senapati) in the 30-32kg, Kh Sushanta (I/E) defeated A Sumanta (Ukl) in the 32-34kg, Kh Manimohan (I/E) defeated A ROnaldo (Kangpokpi) in the 34-36kg, P Bikash (Ukl) defeated L Suraj (Kangpokpi) in the 38-40kg.
In the 40-42 kg, U-14 Boys’ Ph Poireichand (I/E) defeated A Temba (I/W).
Till this late evening, Imphal East is leading with three golds while Thoubal and Ukhrul have one gold each.
