IMPHAL, December 3: The Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur has submitted a memorandum to the Governor asking his intervention regarding the state government’s failure to pay the salaries of the ADC teachers of the hill districts.

Speaking to media persons at a press conference today, president of the federation, R Asing said that in the year 2006 the state government had appointed 1113 ADC teachers with approval order in all hill districts of the state and suddenly the state government stop giving their salaries on April 2007 without any reasonable ground and any genuine reason, he said.

“We consider this treatment towards the ADC teachers by the state government, a glare violation of the Indian constitution and discrimination of the Human Rights,” he said.

Many teachers had filed various written petition to the court and in return the court passed various orders directing the state government to pay/release the salary of the teachers. But even after receiving the court order, the state government has not taken up any action or release the salary, he claimed.

As a result, contempt of court proceeding was also taken up against the state government for the violation of the court orders and directed the state government to clear the salary of the teachers before November 19, he said.

He added that they will approach the tribal development minister at Delhi to look into the matter, if the state government fails to respond in positive at the earliest.
