IMPHAL, November 2: Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai today announced Rs 50000 from her side for Mr Asia Khundrakpam Pradipkumar Singh for his upcoming Mr World contest at Bangkok.
Pradipkumar will be leaving Imphal tomorrow for the contest.
Speaking at a reception function of the Mr Asia, the Minister who is also the local MLA assured Rs 5000 monthly from her MLA salary to the bodybuilder until her MLA term completes.
The bodybuilder along with the newly elected Zilla Parishad Members, Pradhans, Ward Members, successful candidates of Manipur Public Service Commission Examination was felicitated in a reception function organized by the Patsoi Bock Congress Committee at the Langing Community Hall, today.
Speaking at the function, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai Devi who attended the function as the chief guest said “MLA’s receive Rs 60 lakh as Local Area Development Fund in a year”.
She said of the total amount, the state has already sanctioned Rs 15 lakh while another Rs 30 lakhs will be sanctioned soon.
She continued she will hand over the whole amount of the fund to the public of her constituency, and urged the public to allow her to monitor the developmental works undertaken.
Continuing on the development of her constituency, the only woman Minister in the Congress government in the state said that in three years time, she will develop the road infrastructure and water supply in her constituency.
She continued that she will try to utilize and take full benefits of all the centrally sponsored schemes in her constituency and eradicate poverty.
