IMPHAL, December 30: Nahakpam Foundation for Development in association with HOPE Foundation Pvt. Ltd organized a workshop on watermelon plantation and seed distribution at Manipur Press Club today. The Workshop was attended by Professor W. Ingo Meitei Head of Department of Horticulture, Central Agriculture University; Shri Namoilam Tomba Advisor of All Manipur Recognised Pvt. School Welfare Association and Dr. Chinglen Meishnam, Department of Economics of Manipur University as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. W. Ingo said that discussion, change and experience are the keys to success in farming. In his presidential speech, Shri Ngangom Tomba put an emphasis on how to generate income in view of the marketing arrangement for self sufficiency. Prof. Chinglen Meishnam, Department of Economics Manipur University expressed hope that the workshop would play a great role in molding the future of Manipur and stressed the importance of production to desist from dependence on consumption.
