20 students selected at Science Exhibition

IMPHAL, December 4:  The Science Unit Department of Education (S), Government of Manipur concluded its 33rd State Level Science Exhibition for Children 2012-13, on the  Theme “ Science and Society” at Lamyanba Sanglen, Palace compound in Imphal East.

Speaking to IFP, S Robinson one of the students to have been selected to represent the state in Kolkata said, ” Such forums inspires and motivate students to study and work hard. There should be more such avenues so that the talent of students can be tapped in.”

Ch Ghanachandra another entrant for the Eastern India Science Exhibition to be held in Kolkata said that the exhibition supposed to be held in December 2012 for five days but due to unavoidable circumstances in the state it had been postponed. Expressing his disappointment over the exhibition going on for only three days, he said that his interest in science and computers led him to participate in the work experience camp.

The closing function today was attended by various officials, teachers and students. Out of a total 150 participating students, 20 have been selected to participate in the Eastern India Science Exhibition in Kolkatta on 8 Jan. The selected students were awarded with memento and cash prizes today.
