BJP for fast track court: Th. Chaoba

IMPHAL, January 4: Addressing a press meet at BJP office, party President, Th. Chaoba today said that crimes against women are on a rapid increase in Manipur. Castigating the Government of Manipur for its failure to act following the Chandel incident in which an actor was allegedly assaulted and two other artistes fired upon, he said the dealy in Government action only worsened the situation leading to vehement public protests and the unfortunate death of a journalist. He said, “Look at how the police tackled the Delhi gang rape case where they arrested the accused in two days only.” He added that the BJP party is calling for a fast-track court to look into crimes against women and added that during the Science Congress held at Bengal on Jan 3, the party had also discussed about the welfare and the development of the agriculture. 

He added, “The government has to take up special attention for ownership of property by outsiders in Manipur and look into the concerns over the increased in their population over that of the indigenous people.
