IMPHAL, January 25: According to a press release of the state BJP, the NDA chairman LK Advani had said on Friday that Manipur`s territorial integrity is always a concern for BJP and will protect it.
“A team of BJP Manipur Pradesh led by Th. Chaoba Singh, president BJP Manipur Pradesh met top brass leaders of BJP New Delhi today,” said the release.
“After the meeting with the national spokesperson, P Javedkar the state team met L K Advani at his residence at 11 am today wherein he assured the team that BJP is still committed on what Atal Behari Vajpayee said in Nagaland that the Indo-Naga cease fire will not affect Manipur and neighboring states,” it said.
The team also met Sushma Swaraj, leader of the opposition (LS) at her residence at 4pm. The release further said that during the meeting, the opposition leader of the Lok Shaba, Sushma Swaraj assured that BJP will not do anything against the interest of Manipur public rather they will safe guard in the interest of the public.
The release continued that DoNER ministry which was established by the Atal Behari Vajpai has been missused by the UPA government and that if the NDA comes to power in 2014, then all the facilities under DoNER ministry will reach each and every nook and corner of the NE states.
Further according to the statement, the team also met with the newly elected BJP president, Rajnath Singh who assured that a road map to bring peace and tranquility in Manipur will be worked out at the earliest, as BJP national leaders has been raising various issues of Manipur in both houses of the Parliament from time to time.
He also added that the new national team’s door is always open for the public of Manipur to solve any problem, the release said.
The State BJP team was led by Shri. Th. Chaoba Singh and included M Ashinikumar, General secretary BJP, Dr. U. Deben Ex-MLA and Y. Khemchand, State executive member.
