Husband rebuts wife`s claims

IMPHAL, January 18: Ramesh Kumar Gupta whose wife had earlier called a press conference alleging torture and ill treatment, today gave his side of the story and rebutted all charges leveled by his wife against him in a press conference held at the Manipur press club today noon.
Speaking to the media, Ramesh Kumar Gupta (45) son of Dwarka Prashad  said that all the charges against him is totally baseless and that his wife was trying to portray a bad image of him.
He further said that she left for her parental home in the last week of February 2012 by leaving a message on a piece of paper with one one of his salesmen at his watch shop when he was out of the house for some personal work. He continued, saying that it was totally wrong that his wife was not allowed to attend any traditional and religious ritual of her family as he would drop her to the place whenever there was an occasion. He also said that the marital relation deteriorated after she asked to buy a land near her parental house for 25 lakhs which he opposed as he did not have that much money to buy the plot. Ramesh also stated that his wife had earlier resorted to filing many cases through different NGOs.
