IMPHAL, January 22: The identity of one of the four suspected underground cadre who were killed during a gun fight yesterday near the Border pillar no 43 at L Kanan village has been ascertained. The four were reportedly killed during a gun fight between troops of the 39 Assam Rifles and the suspected UGs.
The dead UG suspect has been identified as Pukhrambam Kanta alias Wanguba, 27 son of P Ninghtemchandra of Wangu Sabal.Family members have said that he had been a UG for about 15 years now and had never returned home since leaving their home and he was never arrested by the security forces before. His dead body was today handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted at RIMS mortuary.
