Panchayat Raj program concludes

JIRIBAM, January 22: The 3 days special program for Panchayati Raj functionaries which started on January 20 at the conference hall of the Child Welfare Ashram (CWA) concluded today. The training was organized by the Central Board of Workers Education, Ministry of Labour and Employment and CWA, Jiribam.

The concluding function was attended by Th Thoudam Ibomcha Singh, Upa-Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, Imphal East; Y Iboyaima Singh, Adl Deputy Commissioner and EO Th Harikumar Singh,  Jiribam Municipality as Chief Guest, President and Guest of honor respectively. The training was participated by 30 ward members of the 6 Gram Panchayats.

During the three day training, resource persons spoke on the role of Panchayati Raj Institution for Inclusive growth in India with film show, exploring the ways and means of making local self-governance more effective, practical issues involved in the implementation of MGNREGA, desirable attitude, qualities & skills for PRFs in delivering results of rural development programmes, role of panchayat functionaries in elimination of HIV/AIDS, coordinating roles of DRDA,CD Blocks & Gram Panchayats in effective implementation of rural development program, role of Panchayat functionaries in effective implementation of rural development program and practical problem and experience of the application of RTI Act.2005 in Manipur, with special reference to Jiribam.
