Stranded trucks return

IMPHAL, Jan 18: The trucks and buses which were left stranded along NH-2 due to the sudden blockade imposed by the local people of Zakhama after a Tata truck coming from Manipur met with an accident killing one person at Zakhama in Nagaland on January 15, are now returning to Imphal.
According to the Officer-in-charge of Mao police station, it’s been three days that over 68 vehicles were left stranded along the NH-2 and with no signs of any solution being  seen so far, many vehicles are now heading back to Imphal. Till the filing of this report the number of vehicles deciding staying back  has been decreased to 54. It is also reported that due to the cold and the lack of proper facility for fooding and lodging many are falling ill which has led them to return home.
Meanwhile, a civilian vehicle which went along with an Army convoy was reportedly attacked by the band supporters causing some damages to it according to highly reliable sources. However any official report of it has not been received till the filing of this report. Any sign from the state government to solve the issue has been seen so far.
