TKLI demands justice for hit and run victim

IMPHAL, January 14: The Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) has submitted an ultimatum to the Chief Minister regarding an alleged hit and run case by a VIP vehicle at North AOC on December 18 last, that killed the headmaster of Frontier High School identified as M Awungshi Nganaongai.

Further, TKLI charging the IRB personnel on duty at Kangla Gate (North AOC side) on the said day and time for deliberately covering up the absconding of the VIP vehicle, has also demanded to punish the IRB personnel as well as to nab the culprit at the earliest.  

TKLI in its written representation submitted to the Chief Minister, mentioned that M Awungshi Nganaongai was hit by a white colour Scorpio jeep with a siren near RK Sanatombi Vidyalaya at North AOC and he succumbed to his injuries at Raj Policlinic on the following day of the incident.

“The VIP and his escort team absconded and the evasive act was supported  by the security personnel on duty at Kangla Gateway overlooking North AOC road on the day,”it said.

TKLI also demanded ex-gratia for the family of the deceased and to provide a job for next of kin by  the state government.
