IMPHAL, Jan 22: The Superintendent of Police, Imphal West district has in a statement notified the traffic regulations on January 23 and January 26 from 7 am to 11 am in connection with the Republic day celebration.
According to the statement, the full dress rehearsal will be done on January 23 while the main function will be held on January 26 as per the program. No vehicle except that of the VIP(s) and the Invitee(s) having valid car passes issued by the State Home Department, Manipur shall be allowed to ply towards north of Singh & Co, Moirangkhom on NH-39, Keishampat to Khwai Bazaar, Maharani Bridge -Dukanthong, Babuthong and Khoyathong, Khoyathong to North AOC and Sanjenthong to Western Gate of Kangla and Keishampat Bridge on January 23 and 26 respectively till the functions are over. There will be one way traffic from south to north and no vehicle is allowed to ply from north to south as shown below
DIVERSION POINTS:
All vehicles coming from Singjamei side shall be diverted from Singjamei Bridge and New Thumbuthong Bridge towards Kongba side and proceed up to Palace Compound and parked there. All vehicles coming from Mayang Imphal side shall be diverted from Keishampat Junction towards former Krishnadas Oil Pump to drop/pick up passengers beyond fanner Oil Pump and will proceed towards Kwakeithel and then towards Ningthemcha Karong or Khagempali road; No vehicle is allowed to cross new Keishamthong Bridge from Mayai Lambi Road towards Yaiskul Side. No vehicle is allowed to cross Elangbam Leikai Hanging Bridge from Yumnam Leikai side and all vehicles coming from Tiddim Road shall be diverted from Kwakeithei Bazar towards Tera Bazar- Naoremthong-Uripok Canteen Road, Supermarket and coming back via Watham Leirak, Thangmeiband road, Nagamapal Road, Waheng Leikai Road, Keishampat Junction and pick up passenger from Churachandpur Bus parking near former Krishnadas Oil Pump.
All vehicles coming from New Cachar Road may be parked at Sagolband Moirang Leirak parking. Trucks shall be diverted from Tera Bazar-Naoremthong-Canteen Road and Sana Keithel, Lamphelpat; Vehicles coming from Kangchup side may be parked in the Northern side of Uripok (i.e. beyond the end of Flyover Bridge). Vehicles coming from Senapati Side shall be diverted from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak towards Central Bus Terminus All trucks may be diverted from North AOC towards Minuthong, RDS crossing, Kongba road then New Thumbuthong and Sinqjamei Bridge.
No vehicle is allowed to proceed from Khongnang Ani Karak towards North AOC and vehicles coming from Ukhrul /Tinsio road side and Panqei side shall be diverted from Minuthong towards Hatta and Palace -Compound/ Khuman Lampak Bus Terminus.
Vehicles coming from Andro and Yairipok side shall be stopped at Andre Parking near Bheigo Saw Mill and parked there. No vehicle is allowed to proceed from Palace Gate Traffic point towards Sanjenthong Bridge.
All Buses/Trucks proceeding towards Thoubal side shall be diverted towards Kyamgei Lamkhai via Khongman, Bashikhong and Kyamgei. All four wheelers and two wheelers carrying passengers to witness the function be parked at Lairembi Lampak near Keishampat Junction, in front of Sessions Court, Palace Compound and Singh & CO, Moirangkhom.
CUT OFF POINTS:
Babupara near State Guest House, Moirangkhong (Sing & Co) towards Yaiskul Police lane, Keishampat Junction towards Wahengbam Leikai, Koyathong near LIC crossing, MG Avenue turning point, Western Gate of Kangla on BT road and Nityaipat Chuthek.
