Aadhaar details collection process started

    IMPHAL, Feb 16: As per the direction of Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India Employees Provident Fund Organisation has started the process of collecting the AADHAAR details of employees provident fund subscribers and pensioners in order to implement the Direct Cash Transfer in respect of EPF Scheme, Employees’ Pension Scheme and EDLI Scheme, said a release of Employees Provident Fund Organisation.

    EPFO, Regional Office, Guwahati and three Sub-Regional offices in the North-East States have also started the same, it informed.

    In respect of new members joining EPF on or after March 1, 2013 submission of AADHAAR numbers shall become mandatory with immediate effect and for the existing EPF members collection of AADHAAR details and seeding thereof in bank accounts has been slated for completion by June 30. The concerned employers should start collecting the AADHAAR details (copy of Aadhaar letter issued by UIDAI or the Enrolment ID if AADHAAR letter is yet to be received) and Bank Account details of their EPF members for submission to concerned EPF offices, it further informed.

    Simultaneously the EPF pensioners and beneficiaries including widow/children/orphan/dependent parent/nominee pensioners also should submit their AADHAAR numbers by submitting legible copies of Aadhaar letter issued by UIDAI, photocopies of Pension Payment Order and first page of Bank Passbook containing bank account number and IFSC code either to the concerned EPF offices including Inspectorates and Services Centres or Pension Paying Bank Branch, it added.
