AR organizes national integration tour

    IMPHAL, Feb 22: In the course of a 15 days national integration tour to Delhi and Agra, being organized by 35 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S), the group of students from the Christ King School and St Mary’s School located in Sajik Valley got an opportunity to meet Sheila Dixit, the Chief Minister of Delhi on February 21, 2013.

    According to a press release of HQ IGAR (S), the students presented her with a traditional Kanglasha momento. Earlier, the students met the former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes on February 20, 2013 at Akbar Road, New Delhi. He had a long interactive session with the students wherein patriotic and traditional songs from Sajik Valley were sung.

    On the same day, the students also met the Home Secretary RK Singh at the Ministry of Home Affairs, North Block. In the next few days, these students will get a chance to visit various historical places in Delhi and Agra including the Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar and Fatehpur Sikri, the release added.

    Meanwhile, 18 Sikh of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) presented stationery and sports items as part of military civic action programme at Haokramband High School at Kabowakching, Nambol today. Commanding officer of 18 Sikh interacted with the students, teachers and the principal of the school and assured maximum possible help and support for the education and rich sports culture of Manipur, the release said.

    It further added that Brigadier Rajiv Mankotia, VSM, Commander, 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) visited Khengjoi Junior High School in Chandel district today. During the visit he interacted with the school staffs and students of the remote village and distributed stationery, sport items and solar lantern to the boarding school.
