IMPHAL, February 22: Police disposed of the burnt dead body of a non-Manipuri recovered from the banks of the Phoushembi river under the Churachandpur police station jurisdiction on 18 February.
As nobody claimed the body till yesterday and it could not be officially identified, police sought disposal order from the magistrate concerned. Later, the dead body was disposed of today after the post mortem examination as an unclaimed dead body at RIMS morgue.
It may be mentioned that a dead body of another non-Manipuri recovered from Pearsomon by this police station on February 20 has not been identified till today and is still lying at the RIMS morgue.
