BJP national meeting with party leaders

IMPHAL, March 8: Th Chaoba Singh, President, BJP Manipur Pradesh led its delegates and attended the BJP National Council Meeting on 2nd & 3rd March, 2013 at New Delhi said while addressing  a press meet at BJP office today.

He further said on 2nd March, 2013, Th. Chaoba Singh; Prof. Gangmumei Kamei and SM Asnikumar met Ramlal (National General Secretary); M Vaikaiah Naidu (Former National President) and Jaswant Sinha (MP, Rajya Sabha). They highlighted the burning issues of recent drug hauls, National Highways, Loktak Lake Phumdi clearance etc. The State President talked with Shahnawaz Hussain, the National Spokesperson.

On the next day, they called on Nitin Gadkari (Former National President) and Sushma Swaraj (Leader of Opposition, Lok Sabha) and discussed at length, of all the issues in general and the drug haul in particular.

He further said on 4th March, they met Prakash Javadekar (MP, Rajya Sabha) and National Spokesperson and Bijoya Chakravorty (MP, Lok Sabha and National Vice President BJP an highlighted all the important issues and also including the extension of 6 Lane Asian Highway up-to border town of Moreh under National Highway Authority, the failure of P.D.S., the mismanagement of National Highway guidelines of S.S.A. (while implementing construction, renovation and procurement of materials) and ill-treatment of North East students & employees in the Capital.

He continued that the team along with Mahila Morcha leaders called on Smriti Irani, National Mahila Morcha President and apprised her  about various crimes against women in the State.

The National leaders gave assurance to exhort strongly to all the authorities concerned and if necessary it would be a parliamentary agenda “Immunity” of Armed Forces Special Power Act, 1958 to the new “Anti-Rape” laws, in the proposed bill of the Govt. In this regard, the State President approached Ramlal, who in turn, advised him to consult with Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, Th Chouba said.
