IMPHAL, March 10: The Indo- Burma Sugnu Bus Owner`s Welfare Union is set to launch various kinds of agitation against the state transport authority for giving 16 new permits to Wingers for plying on the same route. This was said by the Secretary of the Union in a press conference held at its office at Governor road today.

Speaking to the media persons at the press conference, Th Radheshyam Secretary of the Indo Burma Sugnu Bus Owner Welfare Union alleged that the recent issue of  16 new permits to Wingers was following pressure by MLAs of the state to give benefit to their relatives.

Altogether, 116 passenger buses which are part of the Union are providing  services to  passengers in the state and asked the state government to take a proper action. “The state transport authority can hand out permits to any one but need to make out a separate route for the service for Wingers, diesel autos and bus separately,” he said.

Stating that a case is still pending in the Guwahati High Court between the Union and the Winger association, he further added that if any unwanted incident happens, then winger association will have to take responsibility.
