CADA organises meeting on drug

    IMPHAL, Mar 16: As a part of its movement against trafficking of drugs through Imphal Airport ruining the people of the state, Coalition against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) along with Lamdeng Apunba Meira Paibi has organised a public meeting against drug at Lamdeng Awang Leikai Community Hall under Imphal West district yesterday.

    Participants of the meeting stressed on drug smuggling and its relation with high profile people, the people’s movement against drug since the seizure of drug worth in terms of crores of rupees on January 11 at Tulihal Airport, and at Mantripukhri, Pallel and again at Imphal Airport. It is the weakness of the government and police that they could not ascertain and produce the owner of drug seized.

    Later the effigies of Chief Minister O Ibobi, Home Minister G Gaikhangam and DGP Y Joykumar were burnt and slogans against drug shouted by the participants.
