IMPHAL, March 3: As announced earlier on February 24 by the Supreme Court appointed Commission’s Secretary PS Moorthy, the Commission began its proceedings today at the Conference Hall of Classic Hotel at North AOC.
According to a reliable source, the day’s proceedings started at 9 am, conducting the cross examination of six individuals including two women in connection with six cases which have been charge of being fake encounters. The cross examination of individuals who had filed their affidavits with the Commission will be further continued tomorrow.
Gauhati based Senior Advocate Das assisted by Advocate N Jotendro is the counsel for the respondent, State of Manipur whereas Advocate PN Choudhary is the counsel for the Assam Rifles.
Today’s session concluded at around 6:40 pm. Submission of affidavits in connection with the six cases continued till 5 pm with the Counsel for the respondent submitting counter-affidavits.
