Five cadres surrender to state forces

    IMPHAL, March 11: Subsequent to the last surrender of a large number of UPPK cadres at Moreh police and subsequent home coming ceremony organized by the army,at least five cadres belonging to two different valley based underground groups have surrendered to the state police on Saturday last.

    Sources maintained that four rebels belong to the KYKL and one to the KCP (City Meitei) group.

    The surrendered individuals are identified as s/s lance corporal Ningthoujam Thoiba alias Gope, 25 son of N Bidur of Kwakeithel Bazar, sergeant Akoijam Jiten alias Ningjaba, 27 son of Herachandra of Moirang, Akoijam Basanta alias Fighter, 38 son of Ibopishak of Patsoi and Rk Ibungo alias Bishorjit, 23 son of Leisabi of Ningthokhong Bazar Thangjam Leirak all four of the KYKL.

    One Yumnam Kiran of Irom Meijrao of the KCP(City Meitei) was among the surrendered. Sources further maintained that the five cadres surrendered with big and small arms to the Moreh Police Station. They were transported to Imphal East police station by OC Achouba,it added.
