IMPHAL, March 26 (NNN): The 3rd Journalists’ Sports Meet 2013 organised by All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) began today at the Manipur Press Club complex here.

The competition started as RK Nimai hoisted the flag. Prithiviraj then inaugurated the new gym.

Prithiviraj while speaking at the occasion acknowledged that the state journalists work actively and hailed them for joining in such sports event despite their hectic schedule.

He said that now the average life span has been reduced to 60 percent from earlier 65 percent owing to hectic schedule life style and stress level, urging for building up of a game habit for a healthy life.

AMWJU president Mobi also made a speech in connection with the sports meet.  He said the AMWJU has been organizing the event since three years with an objective to discourage use of intoxicants among journalists and to make them healthy.
