Kickboxing Association Manipur : Kickboxing championship to be held

Manipur,IMPHAL, March 12:The  Kickboxing Association Manipur (KAM) is set to organize the 20th state level kickboxing championship from April 6-8, 2013 at Meitei Langol.

Announcing this in a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, S Umakanta, General secretary of KAM said the idea of the championship was brought up by Salam Lemba, a bronze medalist in kickboxing in the Asian Indoor Games held at Thailand.

The championship is being organized with an aim to produce kickboxing players to participate in the 4th Asian Indoor Games to be held in June, 2013 in Korea and also to eliminate fear from the players when they participate at the level of the  Asian Games and the Olympics. “The point marking system in the championship will be computerized so that the audience can observe the totalpoints,” he added.

K Sarat, Working president of the organizing committee said the championship is being organized to build character of the sportsmen and appealed the people to cooperate and lend moral, physical and financial support to make the championship a grand success.
